The olive oil supply chain, compact as it is, has had its fair share of challenges during the pandemic. And, on 10 November 2020, after almost a year, key representatives from the sector will meet once again to gauge the true scale of the challenges to come.
The official meeting will take place by videoconference. So that the event runs smoothly, the Executive Secretariat held a test recently, which was a roaring success – over 100 people from 28 countries joined the two-hour call (pictured).
The representatives will discuss a detailed agenda and the Executive Secretariat will collect their forecasts and relay them to the Council of Members, whose 112th session will take place from 23 to 27 November 2020.
In the test call, Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira thanked all participants and addressed Chair of the Advisory Board Ali Ben Hadj Mbarek from Tunisia and Chair of the IOC George Svanidze from Georgia. Mr Ghedira also thanked the Egyptian editorial committee’s support for the next edition of OLIVAE, which will be officially presented during the World Olive Day ceremony on 26 November.
