The Executive Director of the International Olive Council (IOC), Jaime Lillo López, participated in the official press conference presenting the second edition of SOL Expo, which will take place from 1 to 3 March 2026 at Veronafiere in Verona, Italy.
The online press event brought together leading institutional representatives, including the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, after whom the IOC Executive Director took the floor to address participants and media representatives. The President of ITA – Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas, also intervened.
SOL Expo is a three-day exhibition entirely dedicated to the olive and olive oil supply chain, with a strong focus on extra virgin olive oil and the excellence of Italian production. The 2026 edition will host more than 200 companies from Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary, as well as the principal professional associations representing the Italian olive sector.
In his remarks, Mr Lillo highlighted the strategic importance of international cooperation in addressing current market challenges and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the sector. As the only intergovernmental organisation devoted exclusively to olive oil and table olives, the IOC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality standards, supporting research and strengthening dialogue among producing and consuming countries.
The event will also feature technical conferences, market insights, guided tastings and masterclasses, alongside an incoming programme organised with ITA that will bring many stakeholders from 25 countries to Verona, reinforcing SOL Expo’s role as a key international meeting point for the olive sector.
