The IOC will take part in the first Olive Oil World Congress event, a new initiative that aims to promote olive oil and transmit its benefits to society, with the following objectives: to bring together professionals from the sector and encourage the transfer of knowledge at all stages of the production chain; to study success stories and the best marketing and sales tools that will help the sector to improve its commercial efficiency; and to deal in depth with the production, research and marketing of olive oil. The World Olive Oil Congress (OOWC) will kick off its activities with a conference entitled ‘Olive hoy, which will take place on 27 February in Toledo.
Juan Luis Vicente, head of the IOC’s Department of Economic Studies and Statistics, will present an overview of the olive oil sector in the world. His intervention will be followed by two interesting round tables dedicated to the challenges and opportunities for the sector and the new olive oil consumers.
