إجراء بواسطته تقوم هيئات التصديق الرسمية والهيئات المعتمدة رسميًا بمنح ضمان كتابي أو بطريقة معادلة بأن المواد الغذائية أو أنظمة مراقبة المواد الغذائية متوافقة مع المتطلبات المحددة. يمكن للتصديق على المواد الغذائية، تبعاً للحالة، أن يرتكز على مجموعة من أنشطة الفحص التي قد تستوجب فحصًا مستمرًا على سلسلة الإنتاج، والتدقيق في أنظمة تأمين الجودة وفحص المنتجات النهائية.
