العبوات المُستخدمة قد تكون من المعدن، القصدير، الزجاج، البلاستيك، أو أي مواد أخرى، باستثناء الخشب، والتي تتوافر بها المتطلبات التقنية والصحية الفعالة. يجب أن تكون العبوات مناسبة لضمان الحفظ المناسب للزيتون وعدم نقل مواد سامة إلى المنتج المعبأ. يجب ألا تكون العبوات الشفافة مُنتجة لتأثيرات بصرية يمكن أن تغير مظهر المنتج الذي تحتويه.
