OLIVE SECTOR STATISTICS – MAY/JUNE 2025

Here you will find a summary of the latest sector statistics, including an update on olive oil prices, international trade trends for olive oil and table olives, and olive oil production prices.

MARKET SITUATION

Table olive imports

Table olive imports in key markets fell by 16% in the first eight months of the 2024/25 crop year (September 2024–April 2025), compared to the same period the previous year.

The main supplier countries were Argentina (18.1%), Egypt (17.6%), Spain (17.5%), Greece (12.9%) and Morocco (10.1%). All recorded declines, except for Spain, which saw an increase of 1.6%.

Olive oil imports

Between October 2024 and April 2025, olive oil imports in key markets rose by 8.7% compared to the same period of the previous crop year. There was a notable recovery in volumes imported from Australia, Canada, China and the United States.

Prices

In the last week of May 2025 (and the second-to-last week in the case of Greece), extra virgin olive oil producer prices were:
• €338.5/100kg in Jaén, Spain (–57% year-on-year)
• €970/100kg in Bari, Italy (+0.5%)
• €360/100kg in Chania, Greece (–51%)
