EXPOLIVA 2025: Scientific-Technical Symposium

A Global Platform for Innovation in the Olive Oil Sector

The International Olive Council (IOC), the Fundación del Olivar, and CIHEAM Zaragoza are pleased to announce that a scientific and technical symposium, organised as part of EXPOLIVA 2025 (the International Trade Fair for Olive Oil and Related Industries), will be held from 14 to 16 May 2025 in Jaén, Spain.

As the premier global event dedicated to olive oil and related industries, EXPOLIVA has consolidated its position as a hub for innovation and knowledge exchange. Within this prestigious framework, the Scientific-Technical Symposium provides a vital forum for sharing cutting-edge research, exploring emerging trends, and fostering collaboration among key players in the olive sector.

This year’s symposium will focus on four carefully curated thematic areas that address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the olive oil industry: Olive Oil Industry and Quality, Olive Groves and Sustainability, Economics and Consumption, and Health and Olive Oil.

These themes offer an opportunity for researchers, industry professionals, and experts to engage in meaningful discussions, present their findings, and contribute to shaping the future of the olive oil sector. The event’s international scope and scientific rigor make it an essential platform for advancing innovation, promoting sustainability, and enhancing the global competitiveness of olive oil.

Participation in the symposium provides a unique opportunity to showcase recent research, connect with leading international experts, identify new collaboration opportunities, and engage with professionals driving the industry forward.

The Scientific-Technical Symposium of EXPOLIVA 2025 invites the scientific and technical community to submit their research and join this pivotal event for the olive oil sector. The deadline for submission of proposals is 14 February 2025.

The IOC and the University of Navarra, through OHIS (the Olive Health Information System), a platform dedicated to research on the health properties of olive oil and table olives, publish a weekly or bi-weekly collection of scientific articles and summaries of research carried out in this field.
