As part of the Carbon Balance Project aimed at calculating the carbon balance of olive groves, the International Olive Council (IOC) is continuing the pilot phase of its carbon balance calculation tool. Two new training webinars in Spanish and English will be held to support users currently testing the tool.
The sessions aim to:
- Present the carbon balance tool and explain the required data inputs.
- Clarify the logic behind the tool’s calculations and the rationale for the requested information.
- Introduce the user manual, which will be updated as the tool evolves.
- Offer a Q&A segment to address participants’ questions.
This pilot phase is a space for collaboration. Feedback from users—especially producers—will help shape the tool to better reflect the role of olive growing in climate change mitigation and sustainability.
The training in Spanish will take place on Thursday, 17 July, and the training in English on the following day, Friday 18 July.
