The 112th session of the Council of Members is underway

On Thursday 26 November 2020, on World Olive Day, the IOC will hold a seminar on ‘The future of the olive sector’.

The 112th session of the Council of Members started this morning via IOC headquarters in Madrid. The meetings will be held by videoconference until Friday 27 November 2020.

On the agenda for Monday are the presentations of the reports to the Administrative and Financial Affairs Committee and the Economics and Promotion Committee, including the final part the report on the Observatory and IT system’s activities.

On Tuesday, the reports of the Chemistry and Standardisation Committee and the Technology and Environment Committee will be discussed. On Wednesday, the Administrative and Financial Affairs Committee will meet again to go over the budget for the 2021 financial year. And lastly, on Friday, important decisions will be made at the plenary session, including the approval of the 2021 budget.

The session was opened with greetings from Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira and Chair of the IOC George Svanidze (Georgia), and continued with the Deputy Executive Directors Jaime Lillo and Mustafa Sepetçi assisted by the entire staff of the Executive Secretariat.

Simultaneous interpretation into the five official languages of the IOC (Arabic, French, English, Italian and Spanish) will be available for every meeting.

La 112e session du COI commence !

Madrid – Le 26 novembre, le COI célébrera la Journée mondiale de l’olivier avec un séminaire consacré à « l’avenir du secteur oléicole ».

La 112e session du Conseil des Membres du COI a débuté ce matin à Madrid. Les travaux se dérouleront toute la semaine en visioconférence jusqu’au vendredi 27 novembre.

L’ordre du jour préparé par le Secrétariat exécutif prévoit la présentation lundi 23 des rapports des Comités des Affaires administratives et financières et Économie et Promotion, ce dernier incluant également le rapport des activités de l’Observatoire et des Systèmes d’information.

Mardi 24, les Comités de Chimie et Normalisation et de Technique et Environnement seront examineront les rapports préparés par le Secrétariat exécutif. Mercredi 25, la journée sera entièrement consacrée aux questions relatives au budget de l’exercice 2021. La journée du jeudi 26 sera dédiée à la célébration de la Journée mondiale de l’olivier. Vendredi 27, dernier jour de travail, les représentants des Membres réunis en session plénière devront prendre des décisions importantes, en particulier l’approbation du budget de l’exercice 2021.

Les travaux ont été ouverts par les discours de bienvenue du Directeur exécutif du COI, Abdellatif Ghedira, du président en exercice, George Svanidze (Géorgie), et des Directeurs exécutifs adjoints, Jaime Lillo et Mustafa Sepetçi.

Les travaux de la 112e session se déroulent dans les cinq langues officielles du COI (anglais, arabe, espagnol, français et italien).
