The virtual 113th session of the Council of Members came to a close today, after meetings with representatives from across the olive sector and the member countries signatory to the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives 2015.
At the beginning of the session, a collaboration agreement was signed between the IOC and the FAO with the aim of intensifying technical and scientific cooperation to support the global olive sector. The agreement was signed by Abdellatif Ghedira, the Executive Director of the IOC, and Mohammed Manssouri, the Director of the FAO Investment Centre.
The work continued with the discussion of administrative and financial affairs and the approval of important decisions on the functioning of this intergovernmental body. More information will soon be published on the IOC website and in the July newsletter.
The 114th session will be held in November 2021 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the member country that currently holds the chair of the IOC. The plenary session will be held on 25 November 2021, and World Olive Day will be celebrated the following day. On 24 November 2021, the 57th meeting of the Advisory Committee, and, from 15 to 17 November 2021, the various committees will hold their meetings by videoconference: Administrative and Financial Affairs, Economics and Promotion, Observatory, Standardisation and Research, and Technology and Environment.
