Season greetings and happy browsering

Madrid / 25.12.2021

We would like to wish you a happy holiday with this photo of snow-covered olive trees. It is normal that it snows in December and this landscape, almost lunar, expresses fascination and increases our curiosity for these trees.
UNESCO, which approved the declaration of the IOC’s World Olive Day, https://www.internationaloliveoil.org/olive-world/world-day-of-the-olive-tree/ , emphasises that “the protection of this tree must be encouraged and that the countries that have signed the World Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives should promote the values of peace, brotherhood and harmony that this tree symbolises”.

These festive days are also made for relaxing and perhaps taking the opportunity of good reading and researching useful information. So if you would like to brows at our digital library, you can use the following link:

Here you will find in addition to the World Olive Oil Encyclopedia, the World Olive Variety Catalogue; the Carbon Footprint book. All editions of OLIVAE, the official magazine of the International Olive Oil Council. All these publications are in digital format, available in several languages, but the most important thing is that they are directly downloadable free of charge from the IOC website.
If you are interested in learning more about oil chemistry, we recommend that you visit this link:

The Executive Secretariat has recently updated all the chemistry standards and methods, which you can consult and download directly from the website: www.internationaloliveoil.org, directly linked as follow:

  • The list of physico-chemical analysis laboratories approved by the IOC for the period from 1 December 2021 to 30 November 2022 (T.21/Doc. 13/Rev.24/12.2021).
  •  The list of sensory analysis laboratories for virgin olive oils approved by the IOC for the period from 1
    December 2021 to 30 November 2022 (T.28/Doc. No 3/Rev.24/ 12.2021) in accordance with Decision
DEC-13/103-V/2015 on the IOC approval of sensory analysis laboratories for virgin olive oils.

In order to be always up to date on market data, we recommend also to read the latest market trends, prices, imports, exports, consumption of olive oil and table olives on the main markets worldwide on this link:

https://www.internationaloliveoil.org/what-we-do/economic-affairs-promotion-unit/#prices
