Live from the session of the Council of Members

Tbilisi, Georgia / 25.11.2021

The 114th Session of the Council of Members is underway in Tbilisi. Delegates from the 18 member countries of the IOC are meeting in Georgia, this year’s Chair, to make important decisions for the sector. Alongside Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira at the Chair’s table are the Vice Prime Minister of the Georgian government and Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Levan Davitashvili; the Chair of the Council, Mr George Svanidze; and the Chair of the Advisory Committee, representing the world olive oil sector, Mr Ali Ben El Hadj M’Barek. Greetings were addressed to the assembly by representatives of the governments of member countries who joined the session remotely. These included the Minister of Agriculture of Jordan, Mr Kaled Musa Al Henefat; the Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey, Mr Sezai Ucarmak; and the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Uruguay, Mr Fernando Matos.

Tbilissi (Géorgie) – Les travaux de la 114e session du Conseil des Membres du COI sont en cours à Tbilissi. Les délégués des 18 pays membres du Conseil oléicole international sont réunis en Géorgie, pays qui exerce cette année la présidence du COI, pour prendre des décisions importantes en faveur du secteur. Aux côtés du Directeur exécutif Abdellatif Ghedira à la table de la présidence de cette 114e session, se trouvent le vice-premier ministre du gouvernement géorgien et ministre de la Protection de l’environnement et de l’Agriculture de Géorgie, M. Levan Davitashvili ; le président du Conseil du COI, M. George Svanidze ; et le président du Comité consultatif, représentant du secteur mondial de l’huile d’olive, M. Ali Ben El Hadj M’Barek. Des salutations ont été adressées à l’assemblée par les représentants des gouvernements des pays membres connectés à distance à la session. Parmi eux, le ministre de l’Agriculture de Jordanie, M. Kaled Musa Al Henefat ; le vice-ministre du Commerce de Turquie, M. Sezai Ucarmak ; et le ministre de l’Agriculture, de la Zootechnie et de la Pêche de l’Uruguay, M. Fernando Matos.
