IMPORT FIGURES OF TABLE OLIVES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU-27)

In December of the 2023/2024 crop year the unit value of extra-EU imports stood at € 187 per 100kg (-3.1% compared to the previous month).

Also in December, extra-EU imports mainly came from Morocco(-3.7%), Türkiye(-22.9%), Egypt(+684.4%), and Albania(-15.5%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

As for first estimates of the 2022/2023 crop year, extra-EU imports of table olives reached 107 195 tonnes for an estimated value of €226.4 million (-3.9% and +11.1% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

On the other hand, intra-EU imports reached 379 766 tonnes for an estimated value of €864.7 million (+1.8% and +10.8%, respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category, 77.8% of total imports were under code 20057000 (olives, prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid (excl. frozen)) in the 2022/2023 crop year, followed by imports under 20019065 with 5.5%, 07099210 with 6.6%, 07112010 with 8.5%, and the remaining 1.5% under 07108010.

In December of the 2023/2024 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU imports of table olives stood at €187 per 100kg (-12.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or -3.1% compared to the previous month) while the import volume stood at 17 153.6 tonnes (+91.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +34.6% compared to the previous month).
