In July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU imports increased by +10.3% compared to the previous month. The unit value of extra-EU imports stood at €275 per 100kg (+8.7%). Also in July, the imports of the European Union from Tunisia reached 6 472.5 tonnes (-37.8%).

In the 2019/2020 crop year, extra-EU imports of olive oil reached 252 475 tonnes for an estimated value of €493.8 millions (+71.7% and +29.6% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category in the 2019/2020 crop year, 62.5% of total imports were under code 15091020 (extra virgin olive oil), followed by imports under code 15091010 (Virgin lampante) with 31.5%, 15099000 (Other olive oils) with 3.3%, and the remaining 2.7% under 15091080 (Virgin olive oil).

In July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU imports stood at 95.7 (+123.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or +10.3% compared to the previous month).

Also in July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU imports stood at €275 per 100kg (+43.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +8.7% compared to the previous month) while the import volume stood at 8 824.9 tonnes (-58.2% compared to the same period previous crop year or -25% compared to the previous month).

in July, extra-EU imports mainly came from Tunisia(-62.6%), Turkey(-75.8%), Argentina(-47.4%), Morocco(-20.7%), Peru(+595.6%), Syrian Arab Republic(-39.5%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

Tunisia is the main partner of the European Union with a share of 73.3%, the import volume from this country stood at 6 472.5 tonnes (-62.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or -37.8% compared to the previous month). The table below shows imports by month and partner country of the European Union (tonnes).

The unit value of extra-EU imports from Tunisia stood at €263 per 100kg (+39.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +8.8% compared to the previous month), while the unit value of total imports from outside the European Union was €275, (€-11.8).

In July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of the extra-EU in stood at 95.7 (+123.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or +10.3% compared to the previous month).

  • In July, the unit value index of imports stood at 103.5 (+132.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or +11.3% compared to the previous month).

  • In July,The unit value of imports stood at €307.5 per 100kg (+45.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or +11.3% compared to the previous month).

  • In July, the volume of imports stood at 5 797.3 tonnes (-58.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -18.8% compared to the previous month).

Virgin olive oil

  • In July, the unit value index of imports stood at 93.5 (+46.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +5.3% compared to the previous month).

  • In July, the unit value of imports stood at €356.9 per 100kg (+22.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or +5.3% compared to the previous month).

  • In July, the import volume stood at 168.1 tonnes (+8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -67.7% compared to the previous month).

Other olive oils

  • In July, the unit value index of imports stood at 162.9 (+370.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or +58.5% compared to the previous month).

  • In July, the unit value of imports stood at €473.2 per 100kg (+163% compared to the same period previous crop year or +58.4% compared to the previous month).

Pomace olive oil
