IMPORT FIGURES OF TABLE OLIVES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU-27)

In May of the 2021/2022 crop year the unit value of extra-EU imports stood at € 188 per 100kg (+2.1% compared to the previous month). Also in May, extra-EU imports mainly came from Morocco(-3.8%), Turkey(+36.3%), Egypt(-69.1%), and Albania(-1.9%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

As for first estimates of the 2020/2021 crop year, extra-EU imports of table olives reached 116 242 tonnes for an estimated value of €197.8 million (+2.3% and +0% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category, 78.4% of total imports were under code 20057000 (olives, prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid (excl. frozen)) in the 2020/2021 crop year, followed by imports under 20019065 with 7%, 07099210 with 4.7%, 07112010 with 7.8%, and the remaining 2.1% under 07108010.

In May of the 2021/2022 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU imports of table olives stood at €188 per 100kg (+8.4% compared to the same period previous crop year or +2.1% compared to the previous month) while the import volume stood at 10 046.8 tonnes (+1.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -13% compared to the previous month).

Also in May, extra-EU imports mainly came from Morocco(-3.8%), Turkey(+36.3%), Egypt(-69.1%), and Albania(-1.9%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.
