Executive Director

The Council of Members elects the Executive Director to head the IOC as its chief administrative officer. The current Executive Director, Mohammed Ouhmad Sbitri of Morocco [see CV], was appointed on 22 November 2007, after heading the IOC Technical Division for three years.

The Executive Director oversees the organisation, administration and supervision of the Executive Secretariat, assisted by the college of senior officials which is made up of the Deputy Directors (currently two, but only one from 2011 onwards) and the Financial Delegate.

  • Office of the Executive Director

This Office provides the Executive Director with extensive administrative and secretarial support and coordination services with the rest of the Executive Secretariat.

  • Press Office

The Press Office liaises with the media, provides material for interviews and articles and keeps the Executive Secretariat posted on developments in the olive world reported in the main specialist media. It is also responsible for the IOC library.

  • Legal Department

The Legal Department is responsible for advising the Executive Director and the Executive Secretariat in general on legal matters connected with the day-to-day running of the Organisation.

  • Translation Department

The Translation Department provides translation services into the two inhouse languages of the Organisation, English and French.
